Filipino Pride got support from RP Consul General in Guam

Filipino Matters had the great opportunity to be invited by the Philippine Consul General, Ms. Olivia V. Palala, for a courtesy call in the Philippine Consulate General’s Office on May 29, 2009 at about 5:30 P.M. The Filipino Consul General had expressed her wholehearted support for Filipino Matters’ first project, Filipino Pride, a book compiling 64 reasons why Filipinos should be proud of their country, their history and their people. The book hit the island on May 26, 2009, when preliminary copies were sold by volunteers. Proceeds were used to print more copies for distribution at selected public schools all over the Philippines.

Invited in a courtesy visit with Consul Palala are Ron Delima, Elizabeth Cena, Noel Cabello,   Dr. Sam Mabini, Arnel Bonto, Ann Garrido, Roy Salvador Adonay and Jeff David. Consul Kerwin Tate and Vice Consul Maria Paz Cortez were also present. The Philippine Consulate Office praised the Filipino Matters for coming up with a timely and worthy endeavor. Their inspiring words and resolute support motivated the volunteers to continue their pursuit of instilling national pride, love of country, local patrimony and a sense of social responsibility among Filipinos, especially our youth. For Filipinos growing up in a foreign land, Filipino Pride offers a means by which they could connect with their roots. This book can respond to the dearth of national pride among Filipinos born and raised overseas.

The Philippine Consulate Office in Guam is located at Suite 601 ITC Building Chalan San Antonio corner Marine Corps Drive, Tamuning.
