April 24, 2010. In the continuing pursuit of its advocacy to promote national pride, Filipino Matters (FM) partnered with Global News Network for the Filipino Matters show. The program will be hosted by renowned management consultant Ms. Deanne Hernandez. It will be aired every Thursday 9:30 to 10:30 AM and will be available for Global Destiny Cable subscribers.
FM and another like-minded organization, Filipino Vision, will help the program in terms of finding and contacting possible guests that can be invited for interview in the show. Guests will be determined on the basis of the noteworthy works, talents or contributions they gave to their community or to the country.
The program is seen as a continuation of the Filipino Pride book project, chronicling inspiring accounts and stories of Filipinos who are making a difference, making our nation proud in the process. FM will field Mr. Bonifacio “Boni” Commandante as its first guest. Boni is a Filipino inventor who developed the Buhi Technology, a process of facilitating the transport of live fish in a waterless environment by making the fishes sleep. This technology enabled the exporting of local fishes in distant destinations while saving much on freight costs. This is a big boost for the country’s fishing and aquatic resources industry.
We would like to thank Global Destiny Cable and Global News Network for making this program possible. We would also like to acknowledge the help of Ms. Marybeth Nave and Ms. Deanne Hernandez.
Global Destiny Cable, with head office in Makati City, is the second largest cable TV company in the country.
